ABO Energy has secured a tariff for its first Polish solar park in a tender run by the Energy Regulatory Office.
The 17MWp Gubin project in Lubuskie (pictured) is under construction on a former military range and will power more than 6000 homes.
ABO Energy Polska managing director Aleksandra Koska said the win followed grid connection approval and marked an important step for the company in Poland.
Active in the country since 2019, ABO Energy’s 18-strong team is developing solar, wind and battery projects totalling over 1GW.
The company recently secured grid connections for three more solar parks and has applied for three standalone battery projects, including a 257MW facility.
General manager Dr Klaus Pötter said Poland’s electricity mix is shifting rapidly, with renewables overtaking coal for the first time in June.
He added that while wind development is constrained by the 10H rule, legislative changes could boost the sector’s prospects.
Koska said realising the Gubin solar park would strengthen ABO Energy’s position in the market and support Poland’s energy transition.
