AES Distributed Energy has commissioned the 16MW Rincon solar array in Georgia.
The project is interconnected to Georgia Power’s transmission grid, and will produce an average of 32,000 megawatt-hours a year.
The 287-acre solar array is located on the site of an old timber farm in Effingham County.
Electricity generated by Rincon will be sold to Georgia Power under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
