US renewables operator Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) Solar Source has acquired two photovoltaic projects being developed by BayWa in North Carolina.
Construction began last month on Five Forks Solar, which will be a 25.9MW facility when completed, and the 26.9MW North Halifax Solar project.
Both plants are expected to go into service during the fourth quarter of 2019.
The acquisition represents a total investment of $65m.
The Five Forks project is in Warren County, and the North Halifax project is in Halifax County.
Each project has a 10-year power purchase agreement with Virginia Electric Power Company.
They are the fifth and sixth solar projects that PSEG Solar Source has undertaken with BayWa, which will oversee the engineering, procurement and construction of the plants and will also provide operational and maintenance services.
PSEG Solar Source president Sarah Hetznecker said: “This project is another great opportunity for us to partner with BayWa. They are a first-class developer.”
PSEG Solar’s portfolio of operational plants has a total capacity of 414MW.
