Danish developer Better Energy has entered into a power purchase agreement with a collective of corporates, enabling it to build a solar project in Denmark.
By joining forces with Energi Danmark, the 12 corporates have entered into an agreement to buy renewable electricity from Better Energy.
The companies signing the PPA include Bravida, Scan Global Logistics, Blue Energy, Polyprint and Egmont.
Better Energy said the agreement is a blueprint for how multiple companies can come together and contribute directly to the green transition.
“We are incredibly proud of this agreement. We have made it easy for 12 companies in our customer portfolio to make a real difference in the green transition.
“Our customers show us great trust, and we are pleased that we have succeeded in finding a project that is attractive to all 12 companies,” said Viggo Aavang Jensen, head of sales Denmark at Energi Danmark.
The solar park is expected to be completed in 2023 and will produce 70,000 megawatt-hours annually.
“By pooling their electricity needs, these 12 different companies are leading by example.
“Their accumulated demand will result in newly built renewable energy, which is exactly what we need to achieve our climate goals,” said Peter Munck Søe-Jensen, executive vice president of power solutions at Better Energy.
