South African company BioTherm Energy has won a government tender in Ghana to build, own and operate a 20MW solar plant.
The company said it was selected as the preferred supplier out of the numerous bids to supply electricity over 20 years.
BioTherm Energy chief executive Jasandra Nyker said: “We are committed to producing clean and sustainable power at competitive pricing, ensuring benefit for local communities, and look forward to concluding the necessary agreements with the government to take this project into construction.”
BioTherm has also recently secured 34MW of solar projects in Burkina Faso, 284MW of wind and solar in South Africa, as well as being shortlisted in other countries across the African continent.
