Edify Energy and UK asset manager Octopus Investments have contracted Canadian Solar to supply the 333MW Darlington Point solar project in New South Wales, Australia.
Construction kicks off in March 2019 and is expected to be completed in early 2020.
Darlington Point will use Canadian Solar’s high efficiency CS3W-P KuMax photovoltaic modules and the company will also provide engineering, procurement and construction services along with Signal Energy.
The modules will be mounted on single-axis solar tracking systems over 809,000 hectares.
Canadian Solar chief executive Shawn Qu said: “Our work with Darlington Point solar farm further demonstrates our strengths as a system solution provider with global experience.
“We are committed to working closely with local Australian communities in creating new jobs and to provide customers in Australia with affordable and reliable solar energy.”
Canadian Solar and US-based Signal Energy are also providing joint EPC services on another solar project underway in New South Wales.
Construction of the Finley solar farm began in December 2018 and will be completed in October 2019.
Finlay, being developed by ESCO Pacific, is using Canadian Solar’s KuMax modules.
