Canadian Solar has secured A$65m for two solar projects in Australia totalling 47MW.
The non-recourse project finance has a five-year term and has been provided by the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and Clean Energy Finance Corporation.
The projects are the 30MW Oakey facility and 17MW Longreach scheme in Queensland.
Construction is scheduled to start this month and both projects are expected to be online early next year.
Longreach and Oakey were awarded 20-year contract for differences under the Queensland governmen’s Solar 150 program.
Canadian Solar chairman and chief executive Shawn Qu said: “We look forward to making further investments in Australia as we execute on our development pipeline.”
