Enfinity Global has begun commercial operation of a 33MW AC solar plant in Italy under its portfolio of power purchase agreements (PPA) with Microsoft.
The company said the project is the first to go live within a wider collaboration of up to 366MW AC, which includes additional renewable energy plants under construction.
Enfinity added that the partnership aims to support Microsoft’s sustainability goals while delivering local investment and jobs in regions including Lazio, Emilia-Romagna and Basilicata.
Carlos Domenech, chief executive of Enfinity Global, said: “We are delighted to provide solar energy electricity to a global technology leader like Microsoft.”
He added: “At Enfinity Global, our mission is to provide our global and local customers with reliable, value-added renewable energy solutions while we serve as a responsible member of the communities where we operate our power plants.”
Enfinity said it continues to lead the solar PPA market in Italy, with 808MW contracted over the past two years with corporate and industrial clients.
