Production has begun at the 65MW Ingerslev Å solar farm in Jutland, Denmark, marking the first project delivered by BeGreen since its acquisition by Equinor in 2023.
Operated by BeGreen, a wholly owned Equinor subsidiary, the facility comprises more than 100,000 solar panels and six transformer stations. Annual generation is expected to reach 68GWh, with power sold on merchant terms in Denmark’s DK1 market via Danske Commodities.
“This is another step in our ambition to establish a profitable onshore renewables business in select markets across Europe and the Americas,” said Anders Bade, senior vice president for onshore and markets within renewables at Equinor.
“Ingerslev Å demonstrates how our local companies’ expertise and synergy with Danske Commodities can create value.”
The project was completed in under a year, reflecting the rapid deployment potential of onshore solar. With Ingerslev Å now operational, all four of Equinor’s onshore renewables and storage subsidiaries have active assets.
Equinor said it now has approximately 1.2GW of onshore capacity in production or under construction.
