Danish renewables developer European Energy and London-based investor Armstrong Capital Management have formed a joint venture to pursue a 500MW UK solar and storage pipeline.
The partners aim to deliver subsidy-free projects over the coming years, according to the former’s project director Thorvald Spanggaard.
“The UK has been a market that European Energy has been keen to re-enter for some time now,” he said.
“We are already working on developing our own portfolio of wind and solar sites, but have been looking for some time for local partners to help us to accelerate our development activities. In Armstrong we have found an established player with a strong pipeline of projects.”
Armstrong chief executive Steve Mahon said the outfit is pleased to have found a company with a track record of delivering renewables projects.
