Eurowind Energy has placed an order for solar modules totalling 64MW with Chinese manufacturer LONGi Solar, as part of a framework agreement previously signed in May.

The agreement provides for the acquisition of 118,637 modules for three projects in Portugal and Denmark.

LONGi Solar will provide LR5-72HBD 535-540W units for all the projects.

A project in Portugal will receive 22MW, while 42MW will be delivered for two hybrid projects in Denmark.

Deliver is planned from September onwards.

Eurowind Energy chief executive Jens Rasmussen said: “Placing this order shows our commitment to solar PV from the Portuguese to the Danish markets.

“This is another proof that solar is a fully integrated part of our business alongside our wind portfolio.

“We look forward to seeing the panels arriving from LONGi Solar’s facilities and begin the installation.

“We are comfortable that LONGi Solar will deliver on time and with the same high quality, they have become known for.”

Eurowind managing director for the Southern European region Pedro Pereira said: “We have been negotiating a module supply frame agreement with LONGi Solar for quite a long time.

“I’m glad that we have finally capitalized on those negotiations and kicked off our first purchase orders for three projects at the same time.”

LONGi Solar senior vice president Dennis She said: “LONGi is delighted to supply our high-efficiency solar modules to Eurowind Energy.

“LONGi’s innovative technology and high quality have always maintained the leading position in the industry in terms of reliability and stability.

“We hope to cooperate with Eurowind Energy to create a net-zero carbon future by facilitating the application of green energy.”
