Eurowind Energy has reached ready-to-build stage on two solar projects in Portugal and brought a further plant online.
The company closed the acquisition of the 20MW Aveiro clusters on 21 July, comprising the 15MW Avanca and 5MW Esqueira sites. The projects, developed by Arada Green, have now entered construction, while two further clusters in the portfolio are expected to follow later this year.
A month later, Eurowind finalised the purchase of the 10MW Vale da Missa photovoltaic project in Borba, Alentejo. Developed by Pentagab and Enerfont, the scheme involved more than 80 landowners and represents Eurowind’s southernmost project in the country.
In addition, the developer has energised the 5MW Enxara do Bispo PV plant near Lisbon. The site consists of five 1MW units spread across 13 hectares in two land parcels.
Country manager for Portugal Joaquim Pinto said: “It’s incredibly rewarding to witness such high activity across our portfolio in Portugal. Seeing these projects take shape not only reflects the dedication of our team and partners but also reinforces our growing commitment to contribute to the energy transition in Portugal.”
Eurowind now operates more than 50MWp of solar in Portugal, with a further 50MWp under construction. Its pipeline in the country exceeds 1.5GW, including plans for repowering and hybridisation with battery storage and wind.
