First Solar has commissioned the 250MW Moapa Southern Paiute solar plant in California.
The project is located on the Moapa River Indian reservation approximately 30 miles north of Las Vegas and features more than 3.2 million First Solar thin film photovoltaic solar panels.
It has a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
The project will provide lease revenues to the Moapa Band of Paiutes tribe and created 115 construction jobs for tribal members and other Native Americans, First Solar said.
