French telecoms player Iliad Group has signed three solar power purchase agreements (PPA) for sites in France, Poland and Italy, which have a total installed capacity of 90MW.
Under the three deals, Iliad Group will purchase the electricity generated by a solar farm in Sainte-Gemme in France, Latina in Italy and Resko in Poland for 10-15 years starting from when they come into service in 2025.
Engie owns the site in Sainte-Gemme, while Statkraft owns the arrays in Italy and Poland.
The French PPA will run for 15 years from 1 April 2025.
The 25.6MW project is located in Sainte-Gemme in the Charente-Maritime region.
The Italian PPA with Statkraft will run for 10 years from 1 January 2025.
The project has a capacity of 27.9MW.
In Poland, the PPA will run for 10 years from 1 January 2025 and the solar project is 36MW.
The proportion of the Iliad Group’s direct electricity consumption covered by renewable energy supplied under the contracts will amount to 13% in 2025.
Iliad Group has pledged that by 2035 at least 50% of its electricity consumption in Poland and Italy – the countries with the highest-carbon energy mix out of the Group’s three geographies – and 20% in France will be covered by PPAs.
