GE has installed the first of two LV5 1MW 1.5kV solar inverters at a Looop solar plant in Japan.
The inverter (pictured) is the first 1.5kV unit to be used in Japan’s solar market, GE said.
The 1.5kv hardware is more-efficient than 1kV technology and so reduces costs associated with infrastructure, deployment and operation expenditures, the company said.
This can lead to up to a 3% lower system costs and up to 15% less in maintenance costs, GE added.
