German solar partners STEAG Solar Energy Solutions (SENS) and KGAL are developing a 700MW photovoltaic project on Sicily, southern Italy.
The start of construction of the first section is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021.

The project, which SENS is developing on behalf of investor KGAL, was originally 440MW in size until KGAL recently decided to add a further 250MW.
The PV plant, when operational, will feed more than 1400 gigawatt-hours into the grid a year.
