Germany has awarded 510MW of capacity in the latest solar photovoltaic tender.
The Federal Network Agency said the solar tender for the first segment for the bid deadline of 1 November 2021 was “significantly oversubscribed”.
Around 232 bids with a total volume of 986MW were submitted, out of which 133 bids with a volume of 510MW were accepted.
Most capacity is in Bavaria, with 255MW (69 awards), followed by Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, with 51MW (nine awards) and Baden-Wurttemberg, with 49MW (10 awards).
For the first time, bidders were also able to submit bids on arable and grassland areas in Lower Saxony and Saxony after the area categories were approved by state regulations in these federal states.
However, no bids have been submitted for these areas in this round.
Most of the surcharges for arable and grassland areas went to bids for areas in Bavaria (172MW and 41 surcharges).
The award values determined in the bid price procedure are between 4.57ct/kWh and 5.20ct/kWh.
The average volume-weighted award value in the round was 5.00ct/kWh, which corresponds to the value of the preliminary round.
The next round of tenders for solar in the first segment will take place on 1 March 2022.
