Green Switch Capital, now a part of Qair Group, has received planning permission for the 50MW Lark Hill Solar Farm in Essex.
The team at Green Switch, along with planning support from consultants at Axis, were able to successfully secure planning consent from Rochford District Council.
Covering around 66 hectares, the solar farm is expected to generate enough power to meet the needs of approximately 20,970 UK homes annually and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 27,950 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The project demonstrates Green Switch Capital’s dedication to sustainable energy solutions and environmental stewardship.
A Biodiversity Management Plan and Landscaping Plan will be implemented to establish grassland, hedgerows, woodland and other habitat enhancements.
These will enhance the biodiversity of the site which previously had little ecological value, providing a protected area in which nature can thrive.
Markus Wierenga, chief executive of Green Switch Capital, said: “We are delighted to have received planning permission for Lark Hill Solar Farm.
“This project marks another significant step forward in our commitment to sustainable energy solutions.”
