Greenbacker has started commercial operation of its largest solar farm, the 104MW Graphite Solar project in Utah, US.
The site is supplying electricity to Meta’s nearby data centre in Eagle County under a long-term power purchase agreement.
Graphite was acquired from rPlus in 2020, with the developer seeing construction through to completion. It features around 257,700 solar modules.
Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company chief executive Charles Wheeler said: “It’s very special that Graphite Solar can play a role in helping Carbon County diversify its contributions to the local energy infrastructure.
“A place with a long history of power production is now home to Greenbacker’s largest operating clean energy project.”
Meta renewable energy director Urvi Parekh added: “We appreciate the partnership with rPlus and Greenbacker that is delivering this new solar energy to the Utah grid in support of our local operations.”
