Iberdrola and Selex Group have signed a solar power purchase agreement in Italy for a total of 1250GWh.
The 10-year agreement will provide photovoltaic energy for a volume of 125GWh per year and a capacity of 77MW, starting in July 2026.
Iberdrola said the collaboration marks an important step in the acceleration of the industrial electrification process in Italy, with an estimated reduction in annual emissions of approximately 37,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
Selex Group, comprising 18 affiliated companies, operates a commercial network of 3331 retail outlets, ranging from hypermarkets to discount stores.
The formula of the framework agreement allows energy to be distributed among the various associated companies of the Selex Group.
Iberdrola said the agreement will support Selex Group in its decarbonisation objectives.
At the same time, the deal reinforces Iberdrola’s position as a key player in the European PPA market.
Iberdrola has signed several agreements in Europe with large companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Salzgitter, Mercedes-Benz and Vodafone.
