Impax Asset Management has partnered with Irish solar developer BNRG to deliver portfolios of solar energy projects with an initial focus on the US and Ireland.
In the US, where BNRG has been active since 2014, the partners will work together on over 1GW portfolio of solar projects.
The most advanced projects are in Maine where the partners are targeting taking 70MW of projects into construction in the coming months.
The partnership will also pursue projects in several other states.
In Ireland, the partnership will progress BNRG’s existing portfolio of over 600MW of solar projects including 55MW of projects that recently received 15-year Government offtake tariffs in the Irish RESS 2 auction.
The partners are aiming to bring the RESS 2 portfolio into construction in the coming months.
Daniel von Preyss, Head of Private Equity/Infrastructure, Impax, said: “We are very pleased to partner with BNRG, which is an established and experienced player and has an existing mature pipeline of projects.
“Impax has offices in Ireland and the US and we see significant potential for renewable energy in both markets as they accelerate their transition to a low-carbon economy.”
