Invenergy and Liberty Utilities have broken ground on the 50MW Luning solar energy center in Nevada.
The project is located on public lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management.
It will consist of over 200,000 photovoltaic modules on single axis trackers, access roads, transmission and communication equipment and control facilities.
The plant will connect to the NV Energy Table Mountain substation via a 1.3 mile 120kV overhead transmission line.
Construction will be facilitated by Phoenix Solar and will employ approximately 100 full-time workers.
On completion Liberty Utilities will buy the project.
