Irish solar developer Solas Éireann and UK company Golden Square Energy have formed a joint venture to develop more than 250MW of photovoltaic projects in Ireland.
Solas Éireann said it will commit more than €100m to the development and construction of solar farms across the country.
The joint venture will bring together Solas Éireann’s expertise together with 35 sector specialists from Golden Square Energy’s team, which has already deployed over £150m worth of projects in the UK.
Solas Éireann director Simon Maguire said: “The partnership will drive forward the development of the farms, as well as the creation of jobs in local communities.”
Golden Square Energy director Jason Murphy said: “Solas Éireann is a true pioneer in this market and we are confident that our collective experience will go a long way in establishing solar power as a viable and sustainable energy source across Ireland.”
