John Laing Environmental Assets Group has acquired a 4.2MWp of solar systems for £18.8m in the UK.
The portfolio consists of 796 systems of residential and commercial rooftop and ground-mounted installations in England, Scotland and Wales.
The portfolio qualifies for the UK feed-in tariff for 25 years from the date of individual installation.
The portfolio comprises several special purpose companies financed ad owned by Venture Capital Trusts and Enterprise Investment Schemes managed by Downing and Beringea, as well as founding shareholders and developers.
The purchase was funded by a draw-down under John Laing’s £50m revolving credit facility.
