Battery manufacturer LG Chem is expecting to see five-fold growth in Australia’s residential solar storage market this year.
The company, which makes lithium-ion batteries, entered the Australian storage market in July 2015 with the RESU6.4EX.
It has so far supplied 600 units and expects to supply more than 3000 in 2016.
LG Chem said when feed-in-tariffs come to an end in Australia in 2017, it expects to see even greater growth.
LG Chem manager for Australian business development Changhwan Choi said: “We see a quiet solar revolution brewing and we strongly believe that LG Chem will be at the forefront of this transformation to help unlock the true value of solar storage and better enable the ecosystem.”
