Steel business Sidenor has signed a 10-year PPA with Naturgy to a supply equivalent to 350GWh per year from solar and wind energy.
The agreement was signed at the Sidenor offices in Bilbao by its president José Antonio Jainaga and Naturgy’s North Territorial and Portugal director Nemesio Rodríguez (pictured).
The deal forms part of Sidenor’s commitment to decarbonisation and the fight against climate change, through the use of green energy in its production facilities.
The contract also signifies Naturgy’s commitment to growth in the sale of renewable energy at a national and international level.
The deal follows a PPA recently signed in Australia for the sale of renewable energy, a region in which it has become one of the two most important independent producers of wind energy in the country, Naturgy said.
