Renewable energy producer Opdenergy has obtained environmental impact permits for all of its projects under construction and in the pre-construction phase located in Spain.
In total, the projects have a capacity of 1.146GW, of which 902MW correspond to projects under construction and 244MW to projects that are in the pre-construction phase.
The projects are spread across five provinces. There are six projects in Cuenca, totalling 331MW; eight projects with a total of 302MW in Zaragoza; five projects worth 244MW in Zamora; three projects totalling 131MW in Badajoz; two projects with a total of 96MW in Teruel; and a single project worth 42MW in Ciudad Real.
Opdenergy achieved this milestone before the 25 January 2023 deadline for 100% of its projects under construction and pre-construction.
Luis Cid, CEO of Opdenergy, stated: “Obtaining these new permits in Spain will allow us to move forward with our business plan while economically boosting the local communities where the projects are located and promoting the introduction of more renewable energy in the Spanish energy mix.”
