Revolve Renewable Power has been given the green light to proceed with its application for the 250MW Parker solar and storage project in Arizona, US.
Due to its location in an area managed by the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the government department’s approval was a necessary step before further environmental assessments and regulatory processes could proceed.
The 1,530-acre site is situated in a ‘solar variance area’ designated by the BLM in La Paz County, nine miles south-east of Parker, Arizona.
Revolve said it now plans to continue through the BLM approval process, which will include completion of an environmental review in accordance with National Environmental Policy Act.
Further environmental and interconnection studies are due to take place later this year and will be conducted by Wood Group.
Revolve chief executive Steve Dalton said: “Completion of the variance approval process is a major milestone for the development of the Parker Project and is the result of some excellent work by the Revolve development team working closely with the BLM over the last 10 months.
“We now look forward to continuing this work with the BLM and our external consultants as the project moves into the NEPA process.”
