Portuguese renewables firm Rosseti Engenharia will participate in the construction of what it says will be the largest photovoltaic project in Europe, use to start this week.
The Francisco Pizarro project comprises a photovoltaic solar park that will have an installed capacity of 590MWp power, providing clean energy to 375,000 people per year.
The construction of park, which is the responsibility of the Spanish company Iberdrola, will start this week and will have approximately one thousand people involved in the construction process.
This solar project will occupy an estimated area of 1300 hectares, in an extension that covers two municipalities in the province of Cáceres in western Spain.
Rosseti Engenharia’s production director, Rui Martins, said that the participation in this project is “a source of pride” and is result of “the commitment and dedication of all sectors of the company” in it activity.
He added: “It is a great challenge for Rosseti Engenharia participate in this project of enormous dimension, but at the same time it is also an added responsibility that comes from the path we take along renewable energies.”
With 3500MWp of installed power worldwide, Rosseti Engenharia will participate with its experience in this mega solar project that has an investment of more than €300m.
