RWE has begun commercial operation of its first ground mounted solar park in the Netherlands.
Kerkrade, in Limburg, which has an installed capacity of 14.7MW, is the first of several renewables projects due online this year in the country, owned by RWE.
The other projects are two further solar farms and four onshore wind farms.
Kerkrade, is in the province of Limburg.
By the end of this year, RWE will have a solar portfolio in the Netherlands with a total installed capacity of 23.1MW.
RWE commenced construction of Kerkrade in September 2020.
This year RWE will finalise the expansion of its Solar Park Amer which includes a floating PV project and also a ground mounted solar project.
The company said it is looking at opportunities to develop further solar projects near its own wind farms.
