Scatec has started operating a 22MW photovoltaic plant in Jordan, its third solar park in the country.
The facility, located about 225km south of Amman, will generate more than 52,000MWh of electricity per year.
It takes the Norwegian developer’s installed capacity in Jordan to 43MW.
Scatec said it owns 50.1% of the solar park and its local partner European Jordanian Renewable Energy holds the balance.
The plant benefits from a 20-year power purchase agreement with state-owned utility NEPCO.
