Oceans of Energy has delivered the first solar floaters for CrossWind’s Hollandse Kust Noord (HKN) offshore PV farm to the Port of Amsterdam.
The arrays are set for installation at the Dutch 759MW HKN offshore wind farm.
The modular, prefab units form part of the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore solar array that will be installed in 2025.
This will be the largest offshore PV farm installed in the North Sea and the first-of-a-kind offshore solar with offshore wind (and offshore hydrogen) combination.
“The Port of Amsterdam is well suited to deploy the system,” said Oceans of Energy.
“As we have demonstrated in Belgium earlier this year, our modular system is fast and easy to assemble: it is a matter of only days to assemble a full offshore system from factory into the water. Offshore installation of offshore solar requires no heavy equipment or vessels.
“Oceans of Energy is preparing for tow-out of 7MW batches through the sea sluice of IJmuiden.”
