SolarDuck has launched a high-level Advisory Board to accelerate integration of its offshore floating solar technology into the offshore CCS and offshore energy sectors.
SolarDuck said the board will initially comprise Neil Kavanagh, formerly chief scientist at Woodside Energy, and Tore Moe, vice president geomarkets and senior energy advisor Australia at Norwegian Energy Partners, to provide strategic guidance and technical insights.
The company stated that the initiative is intended to guide the adaptation of its technology to subsea applications and strengthen its offshore floating photovoltaic strategy.
SolarDuck added that it is using its Offshore Floating Power Hub to power remote offshore and subsea assets as part of a new leg of its utility-scale solar strategy.
Koen Burgers, CEO at SolarDuck, said: “This Advisory Board marks a significant step forward in our vision to pioneer sustainable energy systems offshore, and more specifically to the exciting opportunity to deliver sustainable, reliable power and communications to subsea assets. Their deep industry knowledge will be invaluable in completing our journey of adapting and enhancing our offshore-tested technology to meet the specific requirements of those applications.”
