SolarWorld Americas has supplied solar panels totalling 14.2MW to Cyrq Energy’s Patua photovoltaic project in Nevada.
The project, which located 64lm east of Reno, is sited next to a geothermal plant to provide constant power generation, SolarWorld said.
Sacramento Municipal Utility District is buying electricity generated by the solar and geothermal plants, both owned by Cyrg.
SolarWorld Americas vice president for sales and marketing Shane Messer said: “This project demonstrates that solar and geothermal are naturally fit to work together.”
