Sonnedix Japan has achieved commercial operation of a solar plant.
The 26.5MW Tanabu solar plant is the eighth large-scale solar PV project fully managed through development, financing, and construction phases by Sonnedix Japan, for the Sonnedix Group.
The electricity generated by the solar plant will be sold through an 18-year plus power purchase agreement (PPA).
Tanabu brings the operating capacity of Sonnedix Group’s Japanese portfolio to 360MW, with an additional 55MW expected to reach commercial operation during the first half of 2022.
“2022 will see continued expansion of our solar platform in Japan, as we expect to bring two more solar PV plants to operation in the first half of this year, building on our growth in 2021,” said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix.
“This is a testament to Sonnedix’s commitment to the Japanese market, as we continue to actively seek opportunities to expand our global footprint and push forward the energy transition.”
Sonnedix Tanabu represents the second EPC collaboration with Juwi Shizen Energy, which will perform operations and maintenance services for the solar plant.
