Sonnedix has secured 805MW of solar capacity in Italy through the FER-X auction, the country’s NZIA-aligned scheme and the Energy Release mechanism.
The company said the awards strengthen its development pipeline and support its strategy to supply clean power to industrial customers.
Sonnedix was awarded 670MW across nine solar sites in the FER-X auction, 125MW through the Energy Release mechanism and 10MW under Italy’s NZIA-compliant auction.
In the Energy Release framework the company is negotiating for over 100MW of additional capacity, bringing potential awards from the three schemes to 910MW.
Axel Thiemann, chief executive of Sonnedix, said: “Securing over 800MW across three competitive schemes is an excellent result, which is a testament to our strength and track record in the Italian market.”
“These new projects – coupled with the ongoing hybridisation of our portfolio and the addition of new technologies – greatly enhance our ability to meet our customers’ needs, giving us greater agility in providing flexible, tailored solutions to support their decarbonisation journey,” Thiemann added.
Mario Volpe, regional head of growth and representative director, Italy, stated: “These results reflect the technical quality of our portfolio and the maturity of our team in Italy, as well as our commitment to advancing the country’s energy transition.”
“Many awarded projects are already under construction or will start soon, strengthening our footprint in key regions,” Volpe said.
