Spanish engineering consultancy Solida Renewable Energies has been appointed owner’s engineer by Statkraft for a cluster of four solar projects in Spain totalling 234MW.
The projects – Arenosas, El Yarte, La Guita and Malabrigo – are located between the municipalities of Jerez de la Frontera and San Jose del Valle, in the province of Cadiz.
The contract also includes the grid connection infrastructure, consisting of four medium voltage lines, a 30/132kV collector substation, a 132kV line and a new transformer bay in the existing Valle 1 substation to which the plants will be connected.
Construction is expected to last 14 months and employ more than 500 people.
“This contract strengthens Solida’s leading position in this type of service, where experience and knowledge are combined with the ability to adapt and solve increasingly complex problems, with the aim of guaranteeing projects comply with the client’s quality standards in a timely manner,” the Spanish company said.
