Spanish renewables company Grenergy is to sell electricity to an unnamed electricity group from the 150MW Belinchon solar farm in Spain under a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
The deal covers part of the electricity generated by Belinchon or about 200 gigawatt-hours a year starting in March 2023.
Belinchon is located in the municipality of Barajas de Melo in Cuenca and will have an estimated production of 315 GWh a year.
It will use bifacial photovoltaic modules that increase its production by up to 15%.
Grenergy chief executive David Ruiz de Andres said: “This transaction demonstrates the company’s structure and capacity to close long-term power purchase and sale contracts and is another step towards our goal of reaching 1.5GW in operation by 2022.”
