sPower has secured a 20-year power purchase agreement for its 105MW Antelope Expansion 2 solar facility in California with the MCE energy aggregation program.
The project, which will be located at Lancaster in northern Los Angeles County, is expected to come online in late 2018.
sPower said at peak construction between 300 and 400 people will be installing more than 300,000 solar panels.
The modules will be mounted on a single-axis tracking system that follows the movement of the sun, the company said.
The MCE program serves Marin County, Napa County and the cities of Benicia, El Cerrito, Lafayette, Richmond, San Pablo and Walnut Creek.
