Wirsol Energy has acquired the rights to develop two solar parks in the UK totalling 16MW.
Construction of the 7MW facility at Outwood solar park in Essex and the 9MW project at Trowse-Newton plant in Norfolk is expected to start in January with grid connection planned for the first half of 2018.
Wirsol, which is a subsidiary of the Wircon Group, is in the final stages of securing a long-term power purchase agreement and debt financing arrangements for the projects.
The facilities form the beginnings of a portfolio of approximately 150MW that will be built over the next 12-18 months, company said.
Wirsol managing director Mark Hogan said: “Within Wirsol we pride ourselves on the ability to change and adapt with market conditions and with our competence in specific project finance we are able to build on our emerging reputation of delivering assets of high quality and performance.”
