Developer Eco Energy World (EEW) plans to build a 280MW solar park in Queensland, Australia.
The photovoltaic plant near Bouldercombe, its largest to date, would represent an investment of A$500m.
Construction could start as early as the third quarter of the year, the London-based company said.
EEW has secured planning consent for about 200MW of solar capacity out of its plans to develop 1GW of projects in Australia over the next two years.
The company expects to start building its first project, a 150MW solar park at Aramara, next month.
“We believe Queensland has huge potential for solar energy with its high irradiance, good infrastructure and availability of land,” chairman Svante Kumlin said.
“The Bouldercombe solar farm, will be able to supply clean energy not only to Queensland but also other states due to its unique location and technical design.”
