US company Vasari Energy is to buy 450 acres in Maricopa County Arizona to develop an up to 68MW solar facility.
The project will be developed through Sonoran Solar Development Partners, a wholly-owned development partnership of Vasari Energy.
Vasari said once the solar plant is fully permitted and engineered, the company will sell the project for approximately $13.6m.
Construction is scheduled to start in October 2019, with the project expected to be operating and delivering power by October 2020.
Vasari Energy vice president Sam Lipman said: “This project will allow Vasari Energy to get closer to its objective of $500m of solar projects under development in 2017.”
