Solar panel maker and developer SunPower has teamed up with German partner Innogy and the latter’s subsidiary Belectric to deliver Australia’s largest solar plant.
The 349MW Limondale project, located near Balranald, New South Wales, will be operational in mid-2020.
Innogy is constructing the solar power plant. The company’s subsidiary, Belectric, is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor, as well as the operation and maintenance service provider.
Belectric has nearly 2GW of executed projects globally, under its belt, including in Australia.
SunPower executive vice president Peter Aschenbrenner said: “We commend Innogy and Belectric for this milestone project, and for using high-performance SunPower technology to ensure long-term value. Customers worldwide rely on SunPower solar panels for proven performance and reliability.”
The solar farm will use SunPower’s P-series photovoltaic modules capable of achieving 19% efficiency.
