Total has secured 606MW of photovoltaic capacity under the French Energy Regulatory Commission’s (CRE) series of solar tenders.
In the latest, eighth round, Total subsidiary Total Quadran won 67MW of solar capacity during France’s latest auction round, placing it second in terms of developers that have won the most capacity under CRE’s solar tenders.
Out of the CRE tenders, Engie has secured the most capacity, well in excess of 700MW, followed by Total with 606MW and then Ubisolar, with just over 500MW.
EDF is fourth with around 450MW and Neoen is fifth with around 300MW.
Most of Total Quadran’s awarded sites will be developed on repurposed sites such as quarries and former industrial sites, Total said, with three of these projects forming part of Total’s “solarisation programme” for the group’ sites.
Total Quadran general manager Thierry Muller said: “Total Quadran is proud to be among the leaders in renewable energies in France and to continue to perform in the calls for tenders of the French Energy Regulatory Commission.
“The results of the call for tenders are a good illustration of our ability to put together solid and competitive proposals in a competitive environment.”
