The UK Planning Inspectorate has completed the examination of Island Green Power’s 480MW West Burton solar project.
Planners will now draw up a recommendation report, which will be sent to DESNZ Secretary Claire Coutinho by 8 August.

Coutinho will then have three months to make a final adjudication on the proposed PV project.
Completion of the examination was delayed last year due to timetable congestion for assessing large solar projects.
The process was halted last September but resumed in November.
If approved, the project will be split over three sites near the Nottingham-Lincolnshire border, linking to a substation at the former West Burton coal-fired power station.
