US renewable energy developer Belltown Power is to start construction of three photovoltaic plants in Texas totalling 330MW.
Belltown recently completed a transaction with an investment partner for the portfolio of the shovel-ready projects.
Commercial operations are expected between December 2020 and March 2021.
The projects each have offtake agreements in place for 100% of power generated.
The solar sites are all located in the north zone of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas wholesale power market.
The 81MW Rippey site in Cooke County is contracted with an affiliate of Vistra Energy for the offtake of 100% of its power generation.
The 81MW Kellam site in Van Zandt County and the 168MW Coniglio site in Fannin County are both contracted with Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative with offtake for 100% of the electricity generated.
Belltown co-founder and president Lloyd Pope said: “This represents a key milestone for the Belltown portfolio, having developed these projects from greenfield all the way to construction.
“We are pleased with the partner we have found to bring these projects forward to commercial operation and beyond and we look forward to completing more transactions like this one.”
Belltown co-founder Jeff Clay added: “We are excited to have completed this transaction, and continue to work hard on growing our portfolio of plus-2GW of solar projects, which we intend to deliver over the next three to five years.”
