Voltalia has sold a 420MW solar project in Brazil to Newave Energia, a partnership between Gerdau and Newave FIP.
Newave Energia will also rely on Voltalia for the construction and maintenance of the electrical infrastructure.
Newave Energia has acquired ready-to-build solar developments, which includes the 420MW scheme, in the Arinos complex, located in the state of Minas Gerais, in the south-eastern region of Brazil.
The total potential capacity of Arinos is more than 1.8GW fully developed by Voltalia, including the divested project.
By the end of the year, in Brazil and other countries, Voltalia expects to sell more than 100MW of schemes, along with construction and maintenance services.
Chief executive of Voltalia Sébastien Clerc said: “The success of the Arinos complex demonstrates our ability to develop high-quality sites.
“This developer capability feeds into our portfolio of sites to be built on our behalf, while enabling our partners to contribute to the growth of renewable energy.
“We are delighted to partner with Newave Energia.”
