Solar projects swept the board in the results of a 200MW solar-wind joint tender held by Germany’s Federal Network Agency (BNetzA).
In total, the BNetzA awarded 18 bids for photovoltaic projects, totalling just over 210MW.
In the competition solar bids were oversubscribed with 109 submitted ahead of the deadline of 1 April 2019, with a total volume of 719MW.
The projects will be built across several German states, comprising 59MW in Saxony-Anhalt and the same amount in Brandenburg. Both states had five successful bids. Schleswig-Holstein will construct 48MW and Hesse 10MW. Each had three successful bids.
In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 33MW will be constructed.
Average prices for projects reached €56.60 per megawatt hour (MWh), up from the November 2018 preliminary round of €52.70/MWh.
In the results of the agency’s biomass competition a volume of 133MW was tendered.
According to the Federal Network Agency, an onshore wind tender deadline is set for 1 May 2019, a solar tender deadline is scheduled for 1 June and a tender deadline for biomass for 1 November 2019.
