Zelestra has brought online the 162MW Belinchón I, II and III solar projects in Cuenca, Spain.
The company said the projects were delivered by its in-house EPC team in under 14 months and supported around 400 jobs during construction.
Zelestra added that the solar cluster is backed by a long-term multi-buyer power purchase agreement through the Energize programme to support pharmaceutical sector decarbonisation.
The three plants include 275,000 solar modules installed on single-axis tracker systems to maximise production.
The projects are expected to avoid more than 42,700 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
“The Belinchón cluster is a significant new addition to our global portfolio of operational projects and it’s also a major project supporting Spain’s clean energy transition. It is a strong example of how we deliver projects quickly and efficiently,” said Luis Alvargonzalez, country manager of Zelestra in Spain.
“It also demonstrates how we are supporting industrial decarbonization, and I am proud of the positive impact Belinchón will deliver for the pharmaceutical sector across Spain and wider in Europe.”
In Spain, Zelestra has 1.1GW of multi-technology clean energy projects contracted with customers and a development pipeline exceeding 7GW.
