Trina Solar has restructured its management teams in Europe and Africa in preparation for growth plans in these regions.
The company has appointed RongFang Yin as the regional head of module business unit in Europe and Africa and Rafael Esteban as the regional head of systems business unit in EMEA and Latin America.
Both appointments are effective immediately.
The appointments follow the resignation Ben Hill, formerly president of Trina Solar Europe.
Yin joined the company in 2009 and most recently served as assistant vice president, global commercial operations.
He will lead the regional module business team to “better serve European and African customers” and help further develop Trina Solar’s position in these two regions. Yin will report to MBU president ZhiGuo Zhu.
Esteban has been at Trina Solar for more than three years, where he was the head of project development and project finance Europe and North Africa.
He will focus on expanding Trina Solar’s project business in these regions and will report to SBU president Qi Lin.
Trina Solar also appointed Gonzalo de la Viña as regional sales director Northern Europe.
He was formerly managing director DACH & Eastern Europe at REC Solar Germany.
Trina Solar chairman and chief executive officer Jifan Gao said: “I am pleased to announce the new appointments of Mr Yin and Mr Esteban.
“I am confident that the extensive experience of both … in the PV sector and their proven track records will help bolster our presence and allow us to capture more growth opportunities in their respective areas.”
